Isaac Duncan III

Isaac Duncan III, a Brooklyn, New York native, of Caribbean decent, received his BFA degree from the University of Notre Dame, Certification of Secondary Art Education from St. Mary’s College and MFA from the University of Kentucky.
Isaac has been an artist-in-residence for Gallery 37/Archi-Treasures, Chicago, IL, and with the Association of Visual Artist, of Chattanooga, TN, assisting Chakaia Booker.
Duncan has been nominated for the prestigious Joan Mitchell Foundation Sculpture Fellowship and received the State of Tennessee Individual Artist Fellowship in 2017.
Duncan was employed by John Henry Sculptor, Inc., where he was the crew supervisor, heavy equipment operator and assistant to internationally renown sculptor John Henry.. Duncan has work with/for other national/internationally renown artist such as: Robert Stackhouse and Carol Mickett, Jonah Freeman and Justin Lowe, Mexican artist Victor Contreras, and George Beasley.
Duncan works can be found in The Kalamazoo Institute of Art, MI, Georgia Tech, GA, Downtown Louisville, KY, Columbia College, TN, Chattanooga, TN and Le Domaine Forget, Saint Irenee, Quebec, Canada.
Isaac is the President of Mid-South Sculpture Alliance, a non-profit group which promotes a supportive environment for sculpture and sculptors, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
