Lives in Chattanooga
I find inspiration in sensing and seeing the silence within our natural world and am passionate about landscapes and birdlife. My work is abstract and is primarily print making with layering techniques in several mediums; drawing, pastel, pen, charcoal, and watercolor. The subjects of my work are the places in which I have lived and observed; urban gardens, mountain brows, high desert, and coastal Maine. Tending to my primary inspiration daily (my garden) for the benefit of my family and community is as vital to me as making art. It is my joy to finally be creating art after several decades of professional life as an arts administrator and curator in London and four years in the 1960’s promoting Indian contemporary art as a Gallery Director in Calcutta. Throughout the 1970’s, I developed the cultural facilities and art activities in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, U.K. Shortly after the birth of my daughter I immigrated to the U.S.A. with my American family in 1981. I graduated from University of Tennessee in 1995 with a bachelors degree in fine arts and currently live in Chattanooga, TN and Stonington, ME.
