Walking on the Walnut

Let the summer weather commence and take a stroll along the worlds longest pedestrian bridge — the most perfect outdoor activity for the ever increasing warm weather. The Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge was constructed in 1891 and was the first main connection between Chattanooga’s downtown and North Shore area. Since its construction it has been home to the wine tasting event, Wine over Water and a perfect view point for the Riverbend Festival that happens each summer.

Chattanooga in the summer is some of the best weather around — throw on some shades, grab a pair of sneakers and take a quick walk along the bridge to get a little exercise while still enjoying the warm weather. Walking along the bridge is extremely popular this time of year great for people watching and making new friends — it will feel like the entire city of Chattanooga is beside you enjoying the summer day as well!
